We test-drove the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab 4WD. Our test vehicle had the 5.3L V-8 engine that offered 355hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The new EcoTec3 engines provide V8 towing capacity and fuel efficiency plus plenty of power. The GMC offered revised steering, suspension and brakes for improved handling and ride.
The 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 is available in three cab configurations: the regular cab seats up to three while double cab and crew cab models seat up to six. Rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive is optional.
The new interior features ample storage, multiple power outlets and USB connections. The high quality interior and comfortable seating position make everything easy to reach. The crew cab’s back seat is very spacious.
Sierra’s optional infotainment system is user-friendly, with 5 USB ports. The available 8″ Color Touch Radio with GMC’s IntelliLink let’s you customize your media. The Sierra also boasts a six-speaker stereo system, an upgraded Bose stereo, navigation and satellite and HD Radio.
Available features include dual-zone automatic climate control, optional safety and driver assistance features such as front and rear parking sensors, Rear Vision Camera for easy hitching, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, OnStar and GM’s Safety Alert seat, which vibrates to notify the driver of potential hazards in the truck’s path.
GMC accessories range from functional enhancements like assist steps and bed management systems to stylish wheels and tonneau covers.
