2014 Chevrolet Traverse Car Review
I’m Lauren Fix, The Car Coach. The 2014 Chevrolet Traverse is a large crossover SUV with generous cargo room and plenty of technology. Let’s take a closer look.
Model – 2014 Chevrolet Traverse
MPG – 17 City / 24 Hwy
Engine – 3.6L V6 engine with 281 horsepower, while LTZ delivers 288 horsepower.
Price – Starts at $30,510
We test-drove the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse and immediately liked the visibility and seating comfort. For 2014, the Traverse has just a few changes; it’s gained an extra pair of charge-only USB ports and the LTZ top trim level now includes standard forward collision-alert and lane-departure warning systems.
The Traverse offers a very spacious interior that can seat up to eight passengers. Or, with the second- and third-row seats flipped down, there is plenty of cargo capacity. The interior is attractive, with nice styling along with a standard rearview camera and Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment interface, touchscreen navigation and functions which were easy to use and understand.
The Traverse delivers a smooth, confident and quiet highway ride and the V6 engine provides adequate performance.
It is offered in three basic trim levels — LS, LT and LTZ. Standard features on the LS include 17-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, roof rails, cruise control, front and rear air-conditioning, keyless entry, full power accessories, cloth upholstery, 60/40-split-folding third-row seats, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a trip computer, Bluetooth, OnStar telematics, a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, a rearview camera and a 6-speaker audio system with CD player, USB/auxiliary audio inputs, satellite radio and HD radio.
The top of the line, the LTZ trim includes 20-inch wheels, a blind-spot monitoring system, a rear cross-traffic alert system, forward collision-alert system, lane-departure warning system, power-folding mirrors, second-row captain’s chairs, leather upholstery, a 10-way power driver seat with power lumbar, driver memory seats, ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Also available is a dual-panel sunroof and a rear-seat DVD entertainment.
