The 2013 Scion xB is customizable with great fuel economy, and is a perfect choice for busy people. In this edition of Car Coach, YNN’s Lauren Fix takes a closer look.

The 2013 Scion xB has updated front and rear exterior styling, which includes new integrated LED running lights. There’s also a new limited edition “10 Series” trim level that commemorates Scion’s anniversary. This special package includes 16-inch alloy wheels, illuminated Scion badges, a solar-powered illuminated shift knob and a 6.1-inch touchscreen display for the sound system.
The test vehicle was a standard 5-door xB with standard Bluetooth, iPod input, and optional Navigation System with XM radio, a rear spoiler and 18 inch customized TRD wheels.
The xB is smooth and easy to drive. The car was responsive on the highway with great four-cylinder fuel economy. It was easy to park or parallel park in tight spots. The spacious interior offered plenty of head and rear legroom. The sound system was good, but it could have offered a higher quality sound system for audiophiles.
When it comes to safety, all xB models are fitted as standard with dual front, front side and full length side curtain airbags, in addition to traction and stability control systems.
All Scion models come with complimentary factory-recommended maintenance services at the first 5,000 mile and 10,000 mile intervals to be performed by an authorized Scion or Toyota dealership.
The 2013 Scion xB is affordable, with a unique look that is versatile, easy to drive and offers a strong list of features at a very affordable price.
