“THE CAR COACH®” LAUREN FIX HONORED TWICE AT SEMA

The Renowned Automotive Analyst, Car Care Expert and Author Receives Accolades for Mentorship and PR Efforts

Buffalo, NY (Nov. 12, 2013)—Lauren Fix, the admired automotive advice provider who is relied upon by so many news sources and the public alike, is honored to announce that she is the recipient of two annual awards at this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas.

The first honor is the Athena Award presented by the SEMA Businesswomen’s Network (SBN).  According to SBN, the Mentor of the Year Award acknowledges and honors an individual for their wisdom, encouragement and willingness to help others along as a foundation for growth within and for the specialty-equipment industry.

Lauren is a mentor to all: from students looking for careers, to professionals well established in the automotive, television and PR industries. She works nationally with the Girl and Boy Scouts of America, local seniors groups, Summer Stock programs for young actors, speaks at several colleges and universities, and is involved in multiple charity auctions.

Lauren and her daughter, Shelby Fix, created the “Teen Car Coach” and “Car Coach 2.0” program to help young drivers realize their influence in the automotive industry and overcome barriers. Together they help bring teens and college students a fun, fresh vision on cars, driving and the personal freedom pitfalls that come with them. Typically they work in partnership with schools or community service groups, with hands-on demonstrations where teens explore their own vehicles and grow in confidence.

Lauren’s second honor came from The Car Care Council Women’s Board and the Automotive Communication Council for public relations efforts regarding winterizing your car on The Weather Channel.
The Car Care Council Women’s Board and the Automotive Communication Council applaud those companies, agencies and individuals that provide automotive information to consumers and the trade professionals who interact with them on a daily basis. Whether it be through outstanding advertising, marketing, merchandising and/or effective PR, these two organizations would like to recognize their efforts through the Automotive Communications Awards competition.

“To be honored twice is beyond my wildest expectations,” said Lauren Fix.  “I am beyond thrilled, grateful and humbled to receive these awards.  I’m so happy to have helped others this year and to be honored for it!”
